Besides the oxygen, the only thing holding us back is a possible hernia repair. The surgeons have not been able to find it because it is so small, but the neonatologists say its there. If its there, I assume go ahead and fix it the same time as the circumcision, recover, and move on. Otherwise, she said they may want us to follow up with them on an outpatient basis and fix the hernia at a later date.
So hernia and oxygen....basically the only things we have to accomplish before we can come home. I'm pretty sure that myself and the docs are just staring at David and waiting for him to tell us that we can turn the oxygen down. He must know that his crib still hasn't come in yet, and that there is a large pile of empty boxes on his nursery room floor.
Since David is so big now (7 pounds, 8 ounces!) and is in an open crib, we get to hold him and give him all his bottles. Because there is so much loving going on, there is much less picture taking so I have no pictures of David today :( ..... Just to recap though, PLEASE PLEASE pray that we can get our oxygen down to 50cc and stable so we can finally be a family together at home!!
Hope ya'll have been enjoying the Christmas season.... I know it definitely has a new and refreshed meaning for me this year!
