So sorry I just don't post like I used to. I just love this little nugget so much and when you are getting to spend some real hands-on time with him, writing about him on the computer becomes a little less important. I'll try to do better about keeping up though.... I know one day I'm going to want to look back and remember all of this!
Our first outing is coming up on Wednesday. Its an appointment back to the doctor in Jackson for another head ultrasound and NICU follow up clinic. I'll admit, I'm pretty nervous about it. I pray for David's brain development on what feels likes, round the clock. I'm basically obsessed with my kids' head. So far, he is right on track and becoming more interactive everyday. He started smiling, which is such a thrill. The smiles are pretty quick, so I have yet to catch one on camera, but they are so so precious!
I'm also anxious to meet back up with our old doctors and see how they think we are doing. As of Friday, David's weight is up to 11 pounds 5 oz. This puts him somewhere around the 75th% for weight. They continue to take his measurements for his head circumference and length, which vary everytime a different person does them, but for the most part they are staying along the correct curve. I am also wondering what will happen with our oxygen. When the home health nurse checked his sats last week, they were good, but I'm just not sure if they were good enough to decrease our oxygen amount or even cancel it altogether. We will just have to wait and see what happens on Wednesday.
We haven't left the house since we came home almost 4 weeks ago, so I have no experience what it is like to give a bottle anywhere other than our home. I have a plan in my head as to how I am going to deal with the bottles and feedings and diaper changes, but as things like that go, you never really know how to work it until you get there! Please pray that our test results come back improved and we get good reports all around. Also pray that this mama doesn't lose her head trying to make it to all the right places at all the right times!!
Now for a few pics.....
Working on his wink for the ladies! I think he was trying out this move while we were watching the Miss America pageant.....
He's had a few big smiles, but this was the closest I could get to snapping a pic of him smiling....
He was so excited about Aunt Laurie's birthday! He busted out his hat and even made her a sign....
